Velocita Energies commissions 40 MW wind energy farm in France

Velocita Energies, a subsidiary of Envision Group, has reportedly announced the commissioning of a new wind energy farm, Entre Tille et Venelle, in France. Developed within the Burgundy-Franche-Comte of the country, the wind farm is carefully planned into the region and its surroundings. The farm would generate 107 GWh of clean energy annually, which is equivalent to fulfilling the yearly electricity demand of about 50,000 people.

With the commissioning of the new wind farm, Envision has consolidated its presence within the region and contributed to the regional goal of getting 110 MW of installed capacity by 2020. Entre Tille et Venelle has fulfilled 36% of the set target for the zone with the new 40 MW farm.

Envision designs and produces market-leading wind turbines which witness deployment throughout the world. In fact, the company’s wind turbines were one of the first “intelligent” turbines in the industry. The turbines are fitted with sensors that optimize and monitor their performance, efficiency, and reliability.

The company’s 16 EN131-2.5 MW turbines deployed at the wind farm have a 2.5 megawatt capacity each, with rotor diameter of 131 meters. The wind turbines were specifically designed and adapted for this particular wind region of France.

Group Executive Director, Envision Group, Felix Zhang stated that the company is proud to commission the new wind energy project, which would feature the very first Envision-branded turbines to be used on French soil, and contribute to the country’s energy transition in a more meaningful manner.

Zhang further added that the firm’s cutting-edge products are matched only by the extraordinary commitment of its team towards collaborations as well as the communities they cater to.

The whole wind farm was developed by taking inputs from elected officials, forest managers, operators, and owners to manage or eliminate its overall impact on the surrounding community and the environment.
