ENE acquires Utility Services to boost energy capabilities & services

Energy New England (ENE), a wholesale risk management & energy trading organization, has reportedly acquired an international repair services organization, Utility Services Inc.

Utility Services will become the wholly owned subsidiary of Energy New England, operating from its headquarters in Waterbury, Vermont. The company’s President, Brian Evans-Mongeon, will be directly reporting to the President and CEO of ENE, John G. Tzimorangas. The two companies have maintained a track record of closely working as strategic partners since the middle of 2017.

According to Mr. Tzimorangas, the collaboration between ENE and Utility Services could lead to the joint production of a full and coordinated spectrum of energy capabilities and services owing to their superior customer service & high attention to detail. Utility Services can offer a broad range of expert solutions for private-sector energy purchasers and providers as well as power utilities.

Utility Services has served over 240 electric transmission & distribution companies, including owners of over 25,000-MW generating capacity of installed electricity across North America. This offering has been made through the NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) and its 6 Regional Entities.

ENE has the capacity to offer power supplies to over 20 municipal electric systems, which can serve more than 1,200-MW load and 550-MW of generation capacity. The company also conducts wholesale power transactions of more than 1 billion-kWh and retail transactions of 100 million-kWh, annually. It also manages a daily delivery of natural gas up to 250,000 therms and fuel oil of 5,000 barrels for the customers.

Utility Services, which was founded in 2007, offers support and regulatory services, including cybersecurity preparation & assessments, support for enforcement program and controls monitoring, program development, entity registration, audit preparation, and related services, within its ERO Enterprise. It closely participates in the NERC & Regional policymaking & operational activities such as notifications, reporting, standards development, and registration. It also maintains official membership in the WECC (Western Electricity Coordination Council), MRO (Midwest Reliability Organization), RFC (Reliability First Corporation), NPCC (Northeast Power Coordinating Council), and NERC.
